Is Vaginal Spotting Normal After A Complete Hysterectomy?

I had a complete hysterectomy seven weeks ago due to endometrial cancer, stage 1a. I have lost 30 lbs.in that time and have had constant pain at the left pelvic and hip joint. Now I have started to lightly spot blood. Mostly brownish pink but occasionally bright red. Is this normal or something I should be concerned about? My email is pambaum@ net zero.net

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your history and understand your concern. Bleeding or spotting could be occur due to hormonal imbalance caused by hysterectomy but not after 2 weeks.
Get yourself tested for pelvic ultrasound to rule out the cause of your symptoms.

Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
