Is Uterus Removal Surgery Not Possible With Elevated Blood Count?
I just found out this week that i have a fibroid in my uterius and it is growing into my uterine wall. After discussing options, I decided to have my uterus removed via laparoscopically and vaginally. My preop appt is not until 5/14 with sugery scheuled for 5/20. I have never had surgery nor had a baby. I am almost 48. Several years back I had an elavated white boold count of 1200. I was living in a different state at the time and had 3 bloods tests done over 6 months and my level stayed within the same range. I told my current dr about this last year but have not reminded him of it since I found out I have to have surgery. The other dr thought it was left over from having parvo B19 virus really bad in 2005. I had to take RA medication for year year afterwards. I have been healthy since. My question is if my White Blood count is around 1200 when they get the work results right before my surgery will they say that I can not have the surgery? I am a SW and have to do a lot of planning to take 4 weeks off and do not want to risk that right before I will be told that it has to be rescheduled.
First of all, I like to inform you that 1200 white blood cell count is not normal and it is much below than the expected range. The normal count is between 4000 to 11000 at most laboratories.
Secondly, it all depends on the cause of white blood cell elevation whether the surgery can be carried out or not rather than straight yes or no.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
