Is Tightness In The Chest A Cause For Concern?

I have tightness in my chest and when I breathe iit feels like the air is too thick. This just started last night when I went to bed. I have no other symptoms but a headache which is normal for me. I have chronic migraines. No recent sickness either. Do I need to worry about this? Should I head for the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

Here allergic inflammation or viral or bacterial bronchitis like infective condition might present and leading you chest tightness and heavy air breath...

I would like to suggest you to consult nearby physician or pulmonologoist for examination and work up accordingly like.....
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry only if needed
-CBC with AEC

If neutrophilia present in CBC than antibiotic started

If eosinophila present than fexofenedine like drug beneficial

If reports normal than you might prescribed decongestant like antihistaminic drug for five days

Take care

Avoid smoking if habit

Vitamin C lozenges useful...

Hope your concern solved
