Is Throat Swelling A Symptom Of Thyroid?

Hi, i am pregnant from 2 month . I had wisdom tooth pain two weeks ago. My neck was swelling. During this i had done blood test.when result come doctor said minor thyroid problem in your report and tell do blood test again.can that throat swelling is cause of thyroid. Thanks.

I can undersrand your concern. Neck swelling can indicate towards a possibility of hyperactive thyroid gland.

However, if the swlling is on the side of the neck below the wisdom toorh area, it could be because of wisdom tooth infection. If the swelling is in the center of the neck, it can be due to thyroid. As your doctoe suggested, blood test can confirm the presence or absence of thyroid disease.
