Is There Any Remedy For Plugged Ears?

Hi, I think I have recently caught a virus. It has caused me to become blocked up just like a common cold.i have a terribly sore throat and I get the sweats at night time. My body also aches. Just recently though my right ear has become blocked and it has been like this for 2 days. It constantly hurts and every now and then I can bear a ringing noise. My heart rate has also been in the 100 s but maybe that s just because I am unwell. Any idea what I can do to get rid of the blocked ear?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat along with blocked ears . Well thr symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards viral infection , which usually go away after completing its course . Sometimes infection travel from upper respiratory infection to ears through eustachian tube and block the ears . This is the reasons for ringing sound in ear and their blockage . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order throat swab test , vital culture test and blood test , also check ears with otoscope . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs along with mucolytic agent and decongestants . For now do warm saline gargles , take steam and give dry hots compresses on ears .
