Is There A Relation Between Diabetes And Burning Sensation?

I was a diabetic and about 8 mths. ago I received a gastric bypass surgery. Since then, I have lost 70 lbs and no longer take metformin. However, in the last month; I have noticed a rapid rise in my blood sugar within 15 minutes of eating or even taking my vitamins. My sugar will rise quickly to the upper 200's and I get heart palpitations as well as anxiety feelings (rapid breathing). Yesterday, I had a burning sensation deep in my thigh (almost like a burning bruise), however, no marks are visable. Today, the burning bruise feeling is spreading up the outer side of my thigh and is sore to touch. It almost has a raw feeling to it. Any suggestions?

Diabetologist 's  Response
I am sorry to hear you have been having difficulties getting your fasting blood sugar in the normal range now. I am very happy you are this conscientious because having a well controlled blood sugar is very important in preventing the onset of diabetic complications.in my opinion the problem is due to gastric bypass.usually food will stay in stomach for some time before coming in to your intestine.but now your food will be running down bypassing stomach.this may be one of the reson why your sugars are increasing
2.the redness in the thigh is due to infection called cellulitis kindly meet you doc and consider taking antibiotic
3 for diabetes consider restarting glucophage (metformin)
regards
