I had a total thyroidectomy in Dec 2010 and my calcium level hit rock bottom while I was in the hospital. They pumped me up intraveniously with mega calcium and then told me to take 2400 mg calcium after discharge from hospital. While in the hospital I noticed that my vision was severely impaired. Went to my opthalmologist who said there was no connection to the massive amounts of calcium I received. About a month ago, my endocrinologist cut my calcium down to 1260 mg a day. I notice that some days my vision is better than others - and am VERY concerned about it. What should I do?
