Is The Dosage And Duration Of Medications For Hormone Replacement Appropriate?

I am on 0.5 mg tablet,,.directions....take 1 table orally daily.decrease dose and taper off. I have just been taking one daily, just noticed the decrease dose and taper off....also the same with Progesterone 100mg..states decrease dose and taper off with estrogen. Should I consult my Dr...I have been doing this for over 6months...I am 68, and using these for homone replacement

Hi, I went through your query. I will suggest that you start tapering off now i.e. decrease the dose gradually and finally stop it. And since you have been taking the preparation continuously for 6 months you should have a checkup for any breast disease or any clotting problem as these artificial hormones increase the risk if only slightly.
