Hello! Venlafaxine is part of a relatively new class of antidepressants, serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRI). This drug has great specificity for serotonin and norepinephrine receptors and have less adverse effects than some other groups of antidepressants. Since it affects two neurotransmitter is more effective in treatin depression adn anxiety disorders, even resistant forms. Clonazepam is a sedative/hypnotic, anticonvulsant, antianxiety drug. The most common side effect is somnolence, and then less frequent, abnormal coordination and ataxia, confusion or memory impairment, fatigue and depression and upper respiratory infection. These two drugs have no interactions found, and in my opinion you can use them just the way you said above. If the anxiety is still present and not managed, you can still increase the dose of clonazepam up to 4mg/day, but asking your doctor first. I hope i have been of help.
