Is Taking Cymbalta Or Gabapentin Advisable To Treat Nerve Damage?

hi should I take Cymbalta duloxetine or gabapentin for nerve damage and numbness in hand and foot. I have seen two neurologist and one wants me to take gabapentin and kolonopin and I am araid of them. Another neurologist suggest duloxetine. I guess I want a proper diagnosis before I take something and they can not give me one, so I just treat the symptoms.

Hi,

Among the medications you are mentioning gabapentine is one that is quite often used for pain due to nerve damage and the numbness associated with it.
I would not take clonopin for long times as it contains a medication that can cause dependence and tolerance, meaning you get addicted to it and with time you will need higher doses.
As for duloxetine (cymbalta contains duloxetine as well) can also be used to treat nerve pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
