Is Surgery Recommended For Dislocated Knee Due To Movement Of Patellar In Bottom Right?
I went to emerge today and was told that I have dislocated my knee and that my patellar is moved to the bottom right side of my knee. I was told that I am going to need surgery to fix it, but in the meantime I am to start physiotherapy. My question is, am I going to need surgery right away? and if so how long will it take to recover. I am going on vacation on december 20th, is the surgery that i need something that can wait until after i return?
Welcome at HCM I have gone through your query and being your physician i completely understand your health concerns. It is important first to do clinical examination first before giving any opinion. There is need to get the MRI of the affected knee joint for proper evaluation. kindly meet orthopedic surgeon for proper assessment. Normally patellar dislocation need to be treated surgically Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain and continue with the physiotherapy. Get well soon Hope your query is adequately addressed if you still have any feel free to ask Regards Dr Saad Sultan
