Is Surgery Necessary For Enlarged Tonsils In A Child?

dear sir my daughter is 4 year old and having problem of tonsilities. we consult ENT doctor and after xrey he suggested to make a surgery. than after we go for aayurvedic treatment and now for past 3 , 4 months she recovered well. was my decision not to go with surgery is correct?

Fortunately your decision to withhold surgery is very correct in my opinion.

Tonsils are part of normal immune system of children. So unless absolutely necessary, every effort should be made not to remove them.

A dew episodes of tonsillitis may not necessarily require their removal. However, if your daughter gets repeated tonsilitis episodes and they hamper her routine life and growth, at that time removal of tonsil may be indicated.

If she has recovered and stays good, you need not to worry for your decision not to go with the surgery.
