Is Sore, Tender Bump On Forehead With Tingly Head After Banging The Head Serious?

Banged forehead on the corner of a metal shelf. Kinda hard. Purple bruise and lump formed instantly right in the middle of my forehead. Now there's a red dot . Not the size of an egg though. Tender to the touch of course. No symptoms other then slight headache that came and went for an hour or two. Then it just feels like above the bump is sore and the top of my head has a tingly/burning sensatin. I had gotten the chills a little and was cold after but I don't know if that's relevant. I iced it a little and tooK Tylenol. This was around 8 -830. It's now 1120. Is it safe to sleep? Should I seek medical attention?

Hello dear,

The bump formation and soreness is due to the impact as well as accumulation of fluid & blood.
The blood cells accumulated are eventually broken down and absorbed in the body.
But this is a slow process & takes times to disappear completely.
Till that time, symptomatic relief is obtained by analgesics preparations (like paracetamol), ice compression & adequate rest.

If it still persists or there are any other associated symptoms like fever, vomiting, loss of consciousness, convulsions, etc...then it will be better to consult your Doctor.
Under such circumstances, a proper clinical+ radiological evaluation will be needed to rule out any pathological cause for symptoms.

Till then, maintain adequate hydration & nutrition status.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
