Is Smoking Marijuana Safe Post Pulmonary Valve Replacement Surgery?
I just had my pulmonary valve replaced w a melody valve and I ve smoked marijuana since I was 12 will this affect me now?? Should I stop or can I continue. I suffer from anxiety and have been prescribed klonapin and Xanax and don t want to turn back to that,.. I need advice
Yes, smoking marijuana may not be good for you can complicate your heart disease by doing so. Firstly medicine used to keep blood thin post valve replacement can have interaction but also it can trigger ischemic heart disease which can further affect the heart functions. It's better to get a proper psychiatrist or motivational psychologist review or behavior modification therapies etc to help you to quit smoking marijuana without becoming too much dependant on other medical options which can cause dependance as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
