Is Severe Pain And Swelling In The Ears Due To Epilepsy?

Hi, my daughter is having severe pain behind her left ear, actually the focal point is above the ear. I felt both sides of her head and there is swelling, or lumps on the left. She does have fluid come out of her ears sometimes....once in a great while. However, she also has epilepsy, so I don t know if something started up with that. This is a stabbing pain and even hurts in her jaw if she tries to eat. She also has a headache

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think she may be suffering from chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) with Mastoiditis.
Epilepsy itself won't cause swelling but middle ear infection may spread through mastoid to the brain may cause seizures.
You may need antibiotics and anti epileptic medication. Need ear cleaning and MRI brain for cerebellar abscess etc.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
