Is Severe Coughing Which Results In Vomiting Normal?
is it normal to cough so much that it makes you throw up? I have had a bad cough that makes me wake up at least 4 times a night for about 4 days now, adn recently it has been getting worse. It can't be stopped by cough syrup or cough drops. I now cough until I throw up and usually cough for a little bit after that.

Since you are having cough followed by vomiting this indicates cough is intense. Vomiting is due to pressure over the abdomen due to cough. But your cough needs to be attended.
1. If the cough is accompanied by fever and sputum you need medication after investigating the cause.
2. If the cough is due to any drug like lisinopril, captopril which are for treating hypertension, they need to be stopped.
3. If you have cough due to bronchial asthma, you need to take medication or change medications if already taking any. Lab investigations like x ray chest and CBP, sputum test are required to know the cause.
