Is Septicemia Lung Infection Curable?

My uncle is 82 years old. He was detected with a patch in the lungs by CT scan recently after he was admitted to a nursing home for treatment of ulcer. The hospital now says he is suffering from septecimia from the lung and has been put in Intensive Care Unit and being trated with latest antibiotics with breathing support etc.
My question is how can someone be infected with septicimia from lung infection and if so can he recover ?

Hi,
Any severe infection in the body can lead to septicemia if not diagnosed or treated in time.
Now with latest antibiotic medicine it can be treated.
We should know specific organisms causing this infection and culture to know specific antibiotic medicine working against these organisms.
This can be known with blood culture.
Ok and take care.
