removing Harrington rods after 20 yrs, my daughter inlaw is having severe pain. What is the procedure, how difficult is it, are there any alternatives to complete removal of the rods, and what are the chances that her pain may not be abated by removal?
Harrington Rods will be removed under General anesthesia only.
So, one need not to worry about Pain, but after you gain back the Consciousness there will be Pain but not that much severe and it will subside in few weeks.
Tell her to take adequate Bed rest after the Procedure.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
