Is Red Discoloration On Hands A Side Effect Of Taxol And What Is The Treatment For This?

I am taking taxol for breast cancer, I am on my 3rd treatment, and I have a reddish discoloration on my knuckles of both hands. The area feels chapped, and does itch at times. Is this a normal reaction, and will anything aaleviate the itching, and stinging?

Hi,

This is not a normal side effect of the drug. This indicates an allergic reaction to the drug. Though it is minor, it may cause a serious skin reaction. So it's better to report to your doctor urgently. For the time being, apply white petroleum jelly on the lesions and take Zyrtec tablet until you see your doctor. Stop the drug immediately if you feel shortness of breath or rashes increases.
