Is Rabies Vaccination Required After Being Scratched By A Puppy?

Hello doctor ... I was playing with my pup, a two month old Indian spitz. I kissed him on his nose and he suddenly grabbed my lip. He didn t literally bite me but I got a scratch from his teeth. There was a little bit of blood and swelling. Is it dangerous?

Hi...
Thank you for your post.
Even though your pet is healthy, i suggest you to take proper precaution.
You should take Anti rabies vaccination (Post exposure prophylaxis) immediately to be on safer side.Ideally wound site should be washed with running water and soap. Avoid soap as it is on your lip. Kindly rush to ER for TT injection and Antirabies vaccination.
Hope this helped.
Take care . Bye.
