Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I have been using skin lite cream on my arms for about two weeks now. I had dark spots on my forearms for two years and tried everything. When I went to the dr they just said there was nothing I could do. It s halfway gone with skin lite cream. I have used half the tube. Is it ok to use the rest of the tube and I heard that weaning off of the cream is important. Does that apply to usage on arms or just face. This stuff is amazing and I would like to finish out the tube.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain Skin lite cream contains Hydroquinone, Tretinoin and Mometasone Furoate as a steroid.. Use of steroid based cream can lead to faster reduction of pigmentation and can show better results.. But many a times long term use of steroid based cream can lead to side effects and there can be increased pigmentation as well as rashes and pimples.. I would suggest you to consult your dermatologist and get evaluated and he can advise you a proper tapering procedure through which you can gradually cut down the application of the cream and then finally stop its usage.. You can then use Kojic acid, glycolic acid and arbutin containing creams and also scrub your hands twice a week for reducing pigmentation and tanning..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
