Is Pregnancy Possible While On Mirena IUD?

Good morning! I am a 29yr old woman and have been on mirena for two years. My husband had a vasectomy at that same time. The mirena was started to help with Crohn s symptoms rather than birth control. I have had three previous pregnancies, with two live births. Is there any possibility that I could be pregnant even with the vas and IUD? I have noticed severe fatigue (fallibn asleep in inappropriate places) breast soreness, and mild constipation that started about 8 weeks ago and have gradually increased. TSH and other labs all normal. No fever or other SX. I felt this same way when pregnant with my last child. Thanks so much!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

There is absolutely no chance of pregnancy while in Mirena plus vasectomy of your husband.

You should not be worried about pregnancy. You should do a total blood count and blood levels of Iron. I think you may be suffering from iron deficiency anemia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
