Is Platelet Count Of 31000/ul A Cause For Concern?

Platelet counts were 33000 at 7 PM Yesterday with no fever since yesterday Morning , these came down to 31000 at 11 PM and today Morning at 6 AM it is 31000 . Dengue fever is from 6 days. Some itching is observed in night. What should be done. Please advise

Welcome to hcm,
Decreased platelets count is normal in Dengue. As Dengue is a viral fever which is self-limiting only supportive treatment is needed. Monitor your platelet count regularly if it goes below 20000 or if any signs of bleeding like bleeding from gums,or petechial hemorrhagic spots then consult your doctor immediately, you may require platelet transfusion.
