Hello,

The area around the anus is pink; yes, it is normal post anal sex. Anatomy of the human anus is different from the anatomy of the vagina. While the vaginal wall has three layers, mucosa, muscularis mucosa and adventitia. The wall of the anus is made of vertical folds that forms columns and are separated by anal sinuses. The smaller folds have anal valves.

Since the anatomy is different, the purpose is also different. The vagina is well lubricated and elastic / stretchable while the anus may be dry and thus sexual activity in the anus can injure it, tear the walls resulting in redness and inflammation.

Avoid sexual intercourse in the anus. Presently, you can apply ointment Soframycin so that abrasion, cut, tear and inflammation may heal. Take pain relieving medicines like naproxen or acetaminophen, for relieve from inflammation. Anal sex may cause complications later in life, causing fissures, hemorrhoids etc.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
