Is Pain Behind The Knee Indicative Of Blood Clots?

I have pain behind my knee. I used to get blood clots when I was in my 20 s on birth control pills. I am 67 years old now and am having the same symptoms. I just took a couple of aspirins. Could this be another blood clot? What should I do about it? Heat? Ice? Nothing? I have been walking a couple of miles a day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Clots usually cause pain in the lower leg and the calf with swelling
This is more likely a bursitis or a Baker's cyst but considering your history you should have a doctor check it out
