Is My PET Scan Report A Cause For Concern?
BELOW IS MY PET SCAN REPORT -
CHEST:
Apical pleural thickening is noted on both sides. There is an air cyst in the right upper lobe measuring 0.4 cm. There are subcentimeter noncalcified nodules along both major fissures, lingula and left upper lobe. These are either non-FDG-avid or are too small relative to the PET scanner resolution. No evidence for pleural or pericardial effusion. Mediastinum is midline in location. No main endobronchial lesion. Heart size is normal.
There is an FDG-avid lymph node along the AP window (SUV 3.3).
No enlarged hilar, mediastinal and axillary nodes are evident on CT.
PLS CAN YOU ADVISE ME IF I SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT SUCH A REPORT.

There are no enlarged lymph nodes in the region scanned. It would be important to know what you are getting treated for and what was the presentation at the time of disease detection. As such no enlarged lymph node and absence of FDG avid nodules is a good situation, you must compare the avid area in the AP window with an earlier scan. On the whole the disease looks under control but comparison with previous reports is essential before giving a final opinion.
