Is Macrobid The Right Medication For Severe UTI, Swollen Left Side With CT Showing Small Cyst In Left Ovary?

I have a severe UTI. I went to ER Sat night and got Cipro. Went to Ob/gyn this morning. Changed anitbiotic to macrobid. I ache and hurt on my left side. I just looked in the mirror and it looks like my left side is swollen. I had a CT while in the ER. The only thing that showed up was a small cyst on my left ovary.

Macrobid is a good medication for UTIs'. Ciprofloxacin is also a good drug and I would not have changed it since you had already started with ciprofloxacin. In any case, you are on good medications for the UTI. It is unlikely to see with your naked eyes a swollen on the left side if a CT scan could only show a small cyst. Do not get bothered. Take your medications as prescribed and you shall be fine.
