Hello,

Doxime is a 3rd generation cephalosporin which is a valid option for tonsilitis - although a little too strong for a simple tonsilitis (unless you've done extensive antibiotic usage recently). The active substance of Lariago is chloroquine and I suppose your doctor has prescribed this drug as a measure against COVID-19. This is not a proven medication against COVID-19 and definitely not against common bacteria.

Despite that, I don't have enough information - I only know that you've been having fever and evidence of throat infection - and I can't judge your doctor's decision. You should discuss your doubts with the treating doctor and avoid taking any decisions before talking to him/her.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
