General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, you have a complete tear of anterior cruciate ligament.
the ligament found in knee joint, connecting lower end of femur(thigh bone) to upper and of tibia.
As to note here ligament injury doesn't heal completely as that of a fractured bone.
knee immobilizer will be of immense help in minor injuries to ligament, and of moderate help in complete tear.
At present arthroscopic surgery of ligament is done, which provides promising results and prevents recurrences.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
