General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It should be safe to take up to 100 mg of Tramadol every 6 hours, no more than 400 mg in 24 hours. It can have side effects such as constipation and sedation, but these should be less than what you would experience with Hydrocodone, so I wouldn't be concerned about this at all.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch, General & Family Physician
