Is It Safe To Take Lithosun For Long Period Of Time?

i am taking lithosun sr 400 daily twice. my problem is depression. every time low level. only one time it gone up. doctor told that it is bipolar disorder. in addition to lithosun doctor advised to take quitipin 50 at night. after one year I stopped lithosun sr 400 gradually. inform me whether to continue lithosun for long time. any side effects after using the medicines for a long period.

I undertand your concern.
Lithium contains component lithium carbonate and it is given in conditions of depression and mania.
Tiredness, Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, Diarrhoea, Hands shaking, Increased thirst, and consequently passing urine more often by day are some of its side effects.
So if any of these complains you had then you should stop medications after consultation.
Any medications should not be stopped without consulting the treating physician.
So opinion of the treating doctor is most important as he knows patients history.
