Is It Safe To Take I-Pill During Menstruation?

mam.im sruthi 25yrs old.i got married in 2014. i and my husband have protected sex everytime.some times the condom breaks..so again we did protected sex yesterday night 12..but same thing happened. the condom got broked during sex.i had a plan to take ipill today evening.and todaay afternoon at 1 pm i got my periods.is it safe to take ipill during periods

Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. There is no need to take the emergency contraceptive pill in the current scenario since you are already menstruating. Ovulation occurs two weeks prior to the onset of the next period and this is when an unprotected intercourse can cause conception. Any intercourse outside the fertile period is safe and hence, you are naturally protected. Also, when you wish to use contraception, go for regular contraception instead of using the emergency pill frequently as this can cause hormone imbalances. Hope this helps.
