Is It Safe To Stop Amlodipine, Simvastatin For A Diabetic After Open Heart Surgery Due To Side Effects?
my father had open heart surgery 4wks ago. he is diabetic. they put him on amlodipine after his surgery. he is also taking simvastatine. he had all the crazy side effects.the dr. took him off both and now they released him today from the hosp...again..due to complications and my mother said they put him back on simvastatine. is it ok to stop taking that med till he sees his dr next week?
I have gone through your query. Amlodipine is given for high blood pressure and simvastatine is given lower cholesterol level. Your doctor have discontinued these medicines because of some reasons. Now if your father blood pressure has increased then amlodipine can be given else there is no need. Simvastatin can be stopped but consult your doctor ASAP.
