Hallow Dear,
Let me answer your queries in two stages.
Your first concern is whether the bleeding you had after intercourse will affect your baby's wellbeing. By and large, if the bleeding has stopped, it should not affect the baby. However, it is more scientific to confirm that there is no more bleeding even in the deeper organs and also to know from where has the bleeding occurred. Hence I would advise you to go for
ultrasonography. It will give visual evidence of the site of bleeding and whether it has completely stopped.
If USG shows the bleeding was not from the chorionic tissue and now there is no bleeding, you can rest assured about the safety of your
pregnancy. If the bleeding was from chorionic tissue, you have to be very careful. Some Progestational preparation like
Susten may help you recover from the damage. Also please restrict yourself to the bed till you are absolutely bloodless for at least 2 days. For all this decision, you should report to your Obstetrician ASAP. It is safer to take Tab.
Folic acid daily to help regeneration and healing of the tissue from where you have bled.
Your second concern is about safety of sexual relations during pregnancy.
During the period of first 3 months, the pregnancy is not very stable and is rather vulnerable. Hence, it is better to avoid sexual relations during this phase. From 3 months to 7 months is a comparatively stable period of pregnancy. So it is safer to have sex during this period. However, to avoid disturbance to the pregnancy, full insertion of penis in the vagina should be avoided. Also, intercourse in the side positions is more preferable and safer. In the last three months, the size of the abdomen makes the intercourse rather clumsy; moreover, the
uterus is getting irritable day by day. Hence, avoid intercourse during last three months also (after 30 weeks of pregnancy).
However, you have complained that you are experiencing pain in the lower abdomen during sex. In such situation, you should not have sex.
Moreover, considering the current complication of bleeding, please report to your Obstetrician ASAP and take complete
bed rest.
I hope to take my advice seriously.
