Is It Safe To Give Ascoril Expectorant To A 6 Month Baby?

my son has wheezing problem since 6months and his doctor suggested giving neb withO2 and drugs from time to time..recenty i have started giving him Ascoril expectorant only when he starts coughing and then when it subsides i discontrinue. I am worried whether it is safe as my son is 1.6 months.

Over the counter cough and cold remedies are not recommended for children of this age. I suggest stopping this medication, giving nebulizer treatments as directed by your doctor, and comforting you son. Make sure he stays well hydrated and is getting rest. At some point in the next day or two, it would be worth it to be re-examined by your doctor to track your son's progress.
