Is It Possible To Increase Height After Recovering From Anorexia?

Would I catch up on any growth so far after recovering from anorexia after a year and it's been 5 years now and yet, I haven't seen any height difference, but I have gained all the weight back. What could I do? Could I have a chance to catch up on my growth?

Hello dear,

In your post, you have not mentioned regarding your gender & present age.

Due to anorexia, the body is devoid of its optimum supply of nutrients, which is manifested in the form of stunting of growth.
Once the anorexia is managed & optimal nutrients are taken, the metabolism proceeds normally & an increase in height can be achieved.
An X ray for bone age determination can be taken to look for the fusion of epiphyses.

Make sure that you are taking a healthy & balanced diet, exercise regularly & avoid stress.
Protein rich diet like soya, groundnut, pulses, etc should be incorporated in your diet plan.
Consume more of natural diet like fresh fruits, green vegetables, milk, eggs, wheat, etc.
Avoid oily and junk food.
Stay away from smoking & alcohol.
These measures will be helpful in improving your height.
