Is It Normal To Have Swelling And Pain In The Glands Of The Neck Suffering With Mono?

I am 42 yrs old and have had a severe case of mono for almost 3 months. The glands in my neck are still swollen and painful, is this normal? Now I feel shortness of breath at times and can feel movement in my chest when I lay down, especially on my left side. What could that be?
