Is It Normal To Have Blood In Discharge After TVH?
Hi I had a TVH and sling on the 5th of this month so I am 9 days post op over the last 2 days I have had more discomfort than previous days and I ve had to restart taking my pain meds. I am losing a very small amount of blood stained discharge almost like lightly blood stained water,. Is this classed as normal as I am not sure what to expect. Thank you
Hi, Thanks for the query. The possible causes for your problem are: -Presence of granulation tissue at the site of vault closure. Granulation tissue can develop at the site of wound healing. That can lead to blood stained watery discharge. -Rarely vesico vaginal fistula can develop during or few days after procedure. So, if the blood stained discharge persists, consult gynecologist once and get examined. Go for investigations like ultrasound, triple test to detect fistula. With this workup the possible cause for your problem can be identified. If the granulation tissue is found to be the cause, antibiotics can help in controlling the problem. Take care.
