Is It Normal To Have A Bruise In The Area After A Cellulitis Recovery?

My mother had a bad bout with cellulitus in her lower abdomen, she in fact became septic from it. After a long recovery with antibiotics she has recovered well. But nurse today noticed a large bruise in the same area. How common is this? Is there some danger here?

Hi.
As per your case history you are having post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't worry, it is normal phenomenon.
2. Apply a kojic acid cream like kojivit twice daily on affected skin.
3. Other treatment options are topical hydroquinone, chemical peeling done by dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
