Is High Blood Sugar Level The Cause For Avt Incident 210 Bpm?

I recently had a AVT incident 210 bpm went to the ER and they stopped it. I had this before a couple of times but it was not as fast and lasted very briefly (weird it was always at night and wasnt sure if I was just imagining it). My question is this, I'm a diabetic and normally keep it under 200 with Metformin 2xday and diet. With this incident i had quite an enjoyable snack the night before with way too much carmel corn apparently. When I had my episode the next morning and I went to the ER my blood sugar was 500. Could my high blood sugar levels have instigated this episode or was that a coincidence?

Hi

It is highly unlikely that increased sugar level of 500 has caused increase in AVT. Usually hypoglycaemia(low blood sugar levels) causes tachycardia. Would advise you to have a cardiologist opinion on this to rule out other causes.

Do let me know for any additional information. Would be glad to assist you.
