Is Heart Rate Of 132 A Cause For Concern?

32 year old has audible stridor and losing ability to speak clearly. Respiratory rate of 36 breaths per minute, maximal use of accessory muscles and oxygen saturation of 90% despite supplemental oxygen at 10 litres per minute. His heart rate is 132 and skin is pale, cool and moist.

Hi,

Consult a physician and plan for an ECG. We have to rule out possible causes like cardiac arrhythmia.

A thyroid function test also be considered as hyperthyroidism can cause these symptoms.
