Is Greenish Bowel Movement In An Infant Post Introduction To New Food Normal?
Hello.. My son is 4 months 24 days old. He generally passes yellowish seed like stool at least 4 times a day. From week he is passing sometimes greenish other times yellowish stool.. He is otherwise active baby.. Also from couple of days I have introduced him to small quantity of apple puree. Is this normal.. Pls advice..

The reason of green colour stool could be apple puree or the bottle feed if you are giving it.
The varying color of the stool is because of changing feeds between breast milk and bottle feeds.
When the babies are given mother's milk, the stools are yellow in color.
When you feed the babies with bottle feeds, the stool color changes to grey or greenish which are completely normal,so there is no need to worry.
Also, infection could be the cause of change in stool color to Greenish color.
Please go for Stool test for routine microscopy and ova,cyst to rule out infection if greenish stool persists otherwise there is no need to worry.
Please make sure that complete sterilization is maintained for preparing and feeding baby foods.
Consult your primary care doctor for further advise on baby feeds.
