Is Gradual Withdrawal From Cigarettes Advisable?

I have been a smoker for over 50 years. Never had any major health problems, until recently. I went into a fib and now have been put on blood thinners and a med to control the heartbeat. I have promised to quit smoking. I am trying to wean off. I went from about 25 cigarettes a day to about 5. I think this is the best way for me to quit. Is this an ok way to do it?

Hello

Yes definitely, you are on right track to quit smoking. As you have reduced no. Of cigarettes it's really appreciated. Along with that you can take tablet nicotine after physician consultation. For tablet nicotine you may require strict physician supervision. Try to quit cigarettes completely, as it's necessary for good health.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
