Is Flying Safe While Suffering From DVT In The Calf?

Hi Like to ask a haemotolgist or vascular surgeon a question I’m factor v Leiden hetro and had a DVT in calf with no PE etc 6 yrs ago and was on warfarin for 6 months. I again had a minor DVT in gastronomes vein about 2 months ago and now for 3 weeks was on rivaroxabav / aexektro 15mg twice a day and now 20mg once. All good no issues was as my first DVT back in gym no PE issues etc I’m looking to go Costa Rica on Tuesday in 3 days .. I’ve not booked and it is a 11 hr flight from London .. is it advisable I understand DVT etc and I will wear compression socks walk and drink water and take my rivaroxaban Do you advice to take additional clexene or up the rivaroxaban and timings etc Or advice not to go

Hello,

No, too much blood thinner may lead to severe bleeding you are fine with this medication, then continue it and it is really hard to tell that we cannot say that DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) when embolism can occur because there are so many factor which can lead to dislodge the clot.
