Is Flight Journey Safe When Diagnosed With Liver Cirrhosis?

I have cirrhosis of the liver and portal hypertension and I ve had to end a scopes for banding varices that of been successful I m told all my liver tests are stable . Is it safe to fly from the East Coast to Europe . My doctors have me on Lasix and Aldactone to lower my blood pressure and protonic s 20 mg .

Hello,

For cirrhosis, you have been prescribed the correct drug. Continue prescribed medication. Take a low salt diet. As such cirrhotic patient if have within limit liver profile reports and clinically stable than no contraindication for air traveling. But take care that if you feel any unusual symptoms or vomit blood consults immediately to the doctor. Consult gastroenterologist for examination.
