Is Constant Tingling And Numbness In Right Arm And Hand After Quadruple Open Heart Surgery Common ?

i am 58 year male, 1 year ago had quadruple open heart surgery, am also diabetic on insulin and thyroid desease. I have for the past two weeks experienced constant tingling and numbness in y right arm and hand, more so over night.
what should I do? What causes my symptons?

Hello,
Yes it is a complication of cardiac surgery. Sternotomy and placement of the retractor can cause injury of the brachial plexus on the right side. This explains your disturbances in the arm. It should go away in a couple of months.
