Is Cervical Ectropion A Concern Despite A Normal Pap Test Report Considering A Family History Of Cervical Cancer?

Hi, I have my pap test done last october. I only have an mild infection in cervix. My transvaginal ultrasound result is all normal aside of having a PCOS. and my Onco doctor found out that I have cervical Ectropion. I am very scared since you said that cervical Ectropion looks the same with cervical cancer. My mother diagnosed with cervical cancer stage 4 last august. should I worried about my cervical Ectropion even my pap test is all normal??

Hi,

Cervical ectropion is a simple variation of normal cells, where cells typical of inside cervix are seen outside of cervix. It is a non-conforming, harmless condition. You need not be concerned of the cervical ectropion. As you have family history of cervical cancer, you should keep on having yearly check up and consultation of oncologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
