Is Burning Sensation In The Vagina A Symptom Of An STD?

Hi, I have been having some vaginal irritation for around a week now. I had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend (unprotected, but I am on birth control) last Sunday, and noticed an irritation last Monday. Today is Monday so it makes a week. This past Thursday I went to the doctor and I was told that I had a rather large vaginal tear and what she thought may be a yeast infection and she sent off a swab to test for any STDs. I haven t received my results yet, but I am extremely worried. I was itching and burning in my vagina, but after taking the Diflucan I was prescribed, it went away. However, I still have sole swollen bumps (no scabs, no pus, no blisters) between my vagina and rectum, but I used some baby diaper rash cream on them and they ve gone down to where they re barely even noticeable. I have some itching and burning in between my left Labia majora and minors, towards my clitoris. When I look at it, there is no bump or anything it just looks like a scratch. Does this sound like an STD?

Hello,

Yes, unprotected sex can cause STD, still, it can also be a simple fungal infection.

If its STI baby diaper rash cream won't has worked. No need to worry, just wait for your STD reports and for itching you can use antihistamines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
