Hi,

The prescribed medication is unlikely to cause burning sensation in the feet. Used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, the most common side effects of glimulin include hypoglycemia ('low blood sugar'), dizziness, headache, fatigue and weight gain. Burning sensation in the feet appear to be due to diabetes itself (diabetic neuropathy). So, you must consult your treating doctor for further clinical assessment. This side effect can be prevented by vitamin B supplementation along with medicines like pregabalin or gabapentin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
