Is Broad And One Inch Long Umbilical Cord Normal In Baby?

Good afternoon Doctor, My two months female baby s umbilical cord is looking little broad in size and also one inch lengthy. If press can feel in our finger like air is inside the umbilical cord. but baby is normal in activities.No pain acquire while pressing. Is this any problem? Please do faver to me -Rajesh S - India

I can understand your concern for your your baby's one inch long umbilical cord .
Dear , though long umbilical cord looks odd . not very many people have it but as long as, it is not troubling your baby in her normal activities , has no pain pressing it , you need not worry . With the time it may shrink on its own .
If you wish you can show to surgeon if any thing can be done
In my opinion there is no cause of concern .
